Revealing my debut novel, Reality Check

  • by

It’s surreal to be here writing this, but hot on the heels of the release of my short story collection ebook, Introductions: Volume One (available to newsletter subscribers for free or to buy on Amazon), I’m proud to announce my debut novel, Reality Check, will be coming out later this year!

Some of you will know I’ve been harping on about this for quite a while now. Others won’t know much about it at all, so let’s go through it, step by step.

The cover reveal for Reality Check

I went in fairly blind to cover design for my first time, but not only did I find a really talented artist, they were friendly and supportive, helping tease out what would work best. Now I have a better idea and I’m already thinking ahead for future books!

We had a few ideas and two concepts, and this is what I chose. I’m super stoked with it – it has an awesome feel to it, if I do say so myself, and I’m really excited to share it with you all.

So, without further ado, the cover for Reality Check:

What is Reality Check about?

I could tell you so much about Reality Check, but as you might have guessed from the cover, this is a science-fiction book set in a future earth. It has a military sci-fi vibe but is very much a character driven story.

More importantly, it’s book one of the Weight of the World series, so there’s plenty more coming. Rather than spoil anything, here’s the blurb:

They’re coming.

Ryan Fall is an upcoming Cyber Cycle racer held back only by his recklessness. Convinced to join a mech pilot programme, he learns there are real ramifications to his rash decisions as his view of the world is torn apart.

Humans are not alone.

Aliens are approaching, and the Enforcers have lost every encounter so far. Ryan and his comrades face overwhelming odds against a formidable foe.

To make a difference, Ryan must face the truth: that his actions matter, and casualties will depend on his decisions.

If he’s to help his fellow pilots save the world, Ryan must come to terms with the harsh realities of war – where even the right decision can have devastating consequences.

Time is running out.

When will Reality Check be released?

Now that you know what’s coming, the question I know you’re asking is when will it release? When can you get a copy?

Well, it’s not too long a wait, with Reality Check releasing on Tuesday 5th October.
